    Message to Parents:

Firstly, we would like to say a big thank you to all the support we have received so far.

Transition from Early Years to Year 1 is a significant step in a child’s educational journey and we are doing everything in our power to help make this step as seamless as possible. Under the circumstances we find ourselves, and the amount of schooling lost, it would be natural to assume that children might struggle, however the class has made this step impressively, demonstrating how fantastic they are.

The Year 1 team would like to congratulate the class and encourage parents/carers to continue to support their child as much as possible.

The importance of reading at home can not be overstated. Reading books are provided to support children with their Phonics development and are chosen to practice the sounds covered during the week, however it does not mean they cannot read other books at home. A range of texts and continued support will help their reading endlessly.

    Clubs and Super Saturdays:

After school clubs, and Super Saturday sessions will be an opportunity for kids to practice their Phonics, Maths and Writing skills dependent on progression throughout the term. More information will be available nearer the time but please note that this will provide a great chance for children to develop key skills whilst engaging in fun, enjoyable and physical activities.
