    Promoting British Values

The Department for Education has published guidance on promoting British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain.

At Pemberley, we understand our responsibility to actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, freedom and individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

    School Council Sessions

Children will be invited into the Year 5 classroom at Friday lunchtimes to talk to the School Council about problems and what they’ve been doing.

    What are we doing?

We vote to improve the school. The children voted on choosing on activity panels for the playground. They vote on a movie each half-term. The classes/school council give the choice.

    How do we do it?

We meet as a school council every week and discuss things. We share what we discuss with our classes before the next meeting and then at the next meeting we tell about our decisions and our problems.
